When I became interested in bonsai, I bought a cheap, boxstore mugo pine. A poor choice in retrospect; branches in a whorl,but a nice trunk. Looking for advice, I posted a pic on BT.
In return, I was told it was junk and to throw it away. I still have the tree. I have learned a lot from it and Vance W. has helped me see its potential. Knowledge has great value.
